Why is a product not in your database?

Fíor Bia is powered by community-maintained open food data, plus our own enrichment layer. If a barcode is missing, the app lets you submit it — it usually appears within a few days. We never charge brands to be listed.

How accurate are the NOVA, Nutri-Score and Eco-Score?

Scores are calculated using the published methodologies from the original research teams. The accuracy of any score depends on the quality of the underlying label data — when we are unsure, we tell you, rather than guess.

Do I need an account?

No. Fíor Bia works the moment you open it. Scans, history and preferences stay on your device.

Does the app work offline?

You need a connection to fetch product data the first time. After that, recently-scanned products are cached and viewable offline.

Can I flag a product or correct its data?

Yes — tap the three dots on any product page to report incorrect data. Corrections are reviewed by a human and pushed to everyone within a few days.

Is my data shared with anyone?

No. We do not sell, share, or analyse your scans for advertising. The only data that leaves your device is the barcode lookup itself, and that is not tied to your identity.

How do I delete my data?

Open the app, go to Settings → Privacy → Clear all data. It removes everything on the device. Since we do not store accounts, there is nothing held on our servers tied to you.
